5. Month June

6. Start times 7:00 AM

7. Time limits N/A

8. Course description First half country roads through rural West Virginia, very little traffic very scenic. A lot of challenging hills on the first half. Second half goes on a rail/trail hard packed dirt gravel, which makes a good running surface, since it is an old rail trail, the elevation increase is not noticeable. The trail is an old rail line through woods and three tunnels through the mountains. The marathon starts and finishes in North Bend State Park.

9. Pasta Dinner None

10. Expo None

11. Support & spectators VERY few mainly family and friends at finish.

12. Water stations Adequate

13. Organization Very good

14. Porta Potties Limited

15. Food at finish line Prepared by running club, hot dogs hamburgers etc.

16. Weather Temps in the 60s with a lot of shade on trial portion

17. Medals Plain medal

18. Other races None

19. Airport Parkersburg or Charleston, Cairo is near nothing.

20. Hotel Highly recommended that you plan to get a room at the lodge in the State Park, it avoids traveling the 15 - 20 miles from Parkersburg to get to the start in time. The lodge is within walking distance to the start and finish.
